Production Manager

Role, Purpose and Summary Objectives:

To lead a team of people and manage an effective production process (Repair and refurbishment) ensuring service excellence to the customer and performance and budget targets are achieved.

Principle Accountabilities

People management responsibilities -- lead by example and ensure the team is motivated and hitting or exceeding daily performance targets
Monitor and manage KPI`s for areas, customers and employees within a fast moving and unpredictable environment. KPI`s are on time to turnaround and also quality.
Keep up to date with the latest equipment, technology industry changes
Ensure the workforce is trained in new technology and new techniques
Ensure the implementation of a robust quality process
Manage the process design of each process
Responsible for developing a team environment that encourages two-way feedback and the successful implementation of Continuous Improvement opportunities
Man marking of key technical contacts with set top box manufacturers and technical product assurance
Delivery of budget for production area
Demonstrate commitment to the use of the company tools and techniques to manage standard activities within the workplace to the required level.
Ensure SOPs by area are in place, maintained and updated regularly and that all team members are trained and signed off for each.
Build relationships with customer to ensure understanding of their real and perceived needs.

Developing, managing and improving robust repair processes
Manufacturers set procedures
Ideal understanding of current services in the set top box environment

Monitoring and Measuring
Daily production targets
Individual monitoring of performance
KPI adherence

Resource Management
Recruitment, development and performance management of direct reports
Ensuring production leaders identify training and manage their resources appropriately

Competencies, Skills and Experience

Experience within the set top box repair industry desirable and essential fast moving electronic consumer products
Sound understanding of reverse logistics trends and activities
Demonstrable production experience -- IT or Telecoms related
Continuous improvement -- proven capability of process design, process improvement
Sound understanding of Health and Safety legislation
Sound understanding of environmental regulations
Man management experience
Sound understanding of training and motivating a team to achieve the goals
Ability to interface with and motivate people of different levels
Highly customer focused
Technical qualification i.e production or engineering
Communication skills
Ability to adapt and change rapidly
