Ford Cargo Recovery Truck

Here we have a 1991 'H' Registered Ford Cargo Recovery truck for sale in very good condition.

The Cab

Finished in white with dual flashing amber beacon on the roof, very tidy condition with only the odd scab, much better than any other i have seen, only minor surface rust in usual places but as i have said much better than most The front panel has been resprayed to tidy it up a bit, there are a few runs in the paint but nothing major, looks better than stonechips!

Inside there are 3 seats, drivers seat has a little wear as to be expected of a vehicle like this but generally ok. There is a pioneer CD player fitted although i don't believe it works, everything inside works as it should besides the stereo.



The Bed

Beavertail 17ft heavy gauge mesh bed, perfect for recovering cars and vans etc, exceptionally strong

The length of the bed is around 17ft and comfortably holds a Long Wheel Base Transit. As the pictures show it holds a 15.5ft BMW Coupe with ease. Another advantage with this bed is that the mesh base offers great grip when pulling cars on and off, a problem often found with smooth beds or checker plate beds is that cars spin up on them making it difficult to load and offload.

The strength of the bed is incredible, it has been used for recovering cars and vans, aswell as tractors and plant machinery and has held a 4.5 tonne Massey Ferguson Tractor! Strength is certainly not an issue with it!

The bed also has a mounting plate for a winch although there is not a winch fitted.

There is a tow bar fitted with electrics at the rear of the bed, ideal for fitting an a frame or spec lift or similar if the extra space is required.

The rear lights could do with replacing as the lenses are split and held together with tape, they still work but cosmetically could do with replacing being totally honest.



There are loading ramps with the truck.



The Engine and Box

The engine starts first time every time and pulls well even fully laden with a car on the back, it never struggles to pull its weight, it has a minor oil leak as to be expected with a Cargo, once again not as bad as most. The gearbox is the 4 speed version, again works as it should with no problems, it drives A1!



The Brakes

Work as they should and it stops well.



The Tyres

Six New tyres, all have loads of life left on them and of course are regrooveable, a spare wheel is also included.



The Chassis

The chassis is solid and shows no signs of welding work and certainly does not need any doing, Solid and strong.



Mot expired May 08 but i have no doubts it will pass. (The price is so low to account for this so i will not be MOT'd)

Taxed until August

Ready to drive away!

And remember if this is to be used as a recovery truck, it can be registered as 'Recovery' with the DVLA, which would then make it MOT exempt, and qualify for cheaper road tax!






So overall an exceptional recovery truck offered for sale and a great business/money making opportunity

Remember the scrap metal value is booming at the moment and is only getting better. The buying rate for scrap metal is currently £200 per ton for cars and £1040 per ton for alloys in our area, more in others There is serious money to be made here!
