Head of Girls Pe January 2009
Hartshill School are seeking to appoint, for January 2009, a highly motivated and ambitious colleague to join a successful P.E. Department. The post would suit a teacher with at least a few years experience and an ambition to become a Head of Department in the future.
The post offers the opportunity to teach P.E. to Key Stage 3 and 4 and BTEC Sport. As well as classroom teaching, we are looking for someone who will contribute significantly to the extra-curricular programme of the School.
You will join a supportive department. The School has a large Sports Hall, a Gymnasium, tennis courts and extensive playing fields. Football, Rugby tennis, netball, rounders and cross country are the main sports but many others are taught. We are very keen to introduce new sports in order to further engage and motivate young people, particularly with the new KS3 curriculum from September 2008. The department consists of 4 staff, 2 male and 2 female. The department is led by the Head of P.E. who is also Head of Boys P.E..
Skills
You must have Qualified Teacher Status in the United Kingdom or an equivalent overseas qualification with UK teaching experience. This will allow you to deliver the National Curriculum and be properly equipped to deal with classroom management.
