Multi-disciplinary Telecoms consultancy seeks a confident Construction Engineer.
A Construction Engineer is required to ensure that telecoms sites are built in accordance with structural design detail. Sites will need to be built to program, ensuring good quality and at the agreed cost. You’ll manage sub-contractors and site related health and safety issues. You will be based in or near Coventry.
Reporting to the Construction Manager your principal responsibilities will be as follows.
• Taking responsibility for sites allocated to you and all site issues
• Ensuring site Health and Safety legislation is met.
• Maintaining a safe working environment, for both site personnel and the public
• Ensuring all site staff are suitably qualified to be on site
• Managing Health and Safety issues that arise on site
• Monitoring contractor performance
• Liaising with other departments on site issues (Acquisition and Design)
• Managing equipment requisition
• Updating reporting systems.
• Any other duties as issued by your manager.
On the financial side you will be responsible for reporting any variations to the Senior Construction Engineer and QS.
The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, have a working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, have prior experience in constructing telecom sites and be suitably trained to execute duties. A minimum of 2 years construction site management would be desirable.
This post also requires a UK Full Driving licence and in return you can look forward to a salary to £30,000 plus package which includes a company car.
